Elizabeth K. Stiles, is in peace with the Lord as of Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born Minnie Elizabeth Koog, the first born child of Joseph and Eula Koog, in Del Rio, TX on November 17, 1928. She is survived by her children, Darwin D. Stiles, of La Porte, Cheryl D. Stiles and Kevin J. Stiles of Del Rio, a niece Debra Treadway of Del Rio and grand-daughter, Hayley Stiles of San Marcos. She grew up and attended school in Del Rio, and graduated from Del Rio High School and was awarded a scholarship to Incarnate Word University in San Antonio for Highest-Ranking Girl in her class. She chose to start her career and help her family by going to work. Her first job was for Billie C. Lewis at Southwest Abstract Company. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone, facilitating office billing for 28 towns. In 1952 her civil service career at Laughlin AFB began in “Purchasing”, brought her to “Base Supply” and lastly “Accounting & Finance”. She retired from Government Service in 1989. During her time at Laughlin, she met and married the love of her life, Darwin “Don” Stiles. They married Aug 1, 1953 in Del Rio and shared 17 love-filled years together. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Lillian Treadway. Visitation will be held Monday, Jan 25th, 2016 from 6-9 P.M. at G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel Services at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Jan 26th , 2016 officiated by Grace Lutheran Church‘s Pastor David Neilson at G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home, with interment to follow at the Masonic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements with G. W.
