FRANKIE LEE HARLOW
 
Frankie Lee Harlow passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008 at her home in San Antonio at the age of 85.
 
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Greenwood on January 26, 1923 in Del Rio, she was the fourth generation of a pioneer ranching family in Val Verde County. Frankie Lee grew up in Del Rio, graduated from Del Rio High School, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and earned a BA degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1942. That same year she married Fred Harlow, an instructor pilot in the United States Air Force, and in 1945 they entered the sheep ranching business. After his death in 2002, Mrs. Harlow continued the family business.
 
She enjoyed cooking, dogs, entertaining, reading, and traveling. She was also interested in politics and was instrumental in organizing the Republican Party in Val Verde County in the early 1960s.
 
 She is survived by two daughters, Lea Harlow, of San Antonio and Kay Ochoa and husband Daniel, as well as two granddaughters, Anna and Elizabeth Ochoa, all of Boerne. In addition, special thanks go to Ofelia Sanchez, long-time housekeeper.
 
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at St. James Episcopal Church in Del Rio. Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Episcopal School, P.O.
