Jack Jolley London

After a courageous battle with cancer, Jack Jolley London, 68, of Amarillo, Texas, and formerly of Plainview, Texas, passed away at his home on September 6, 2016. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel in Amarillo, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Jack was born on October 26, 1947, in Uvalde, Texas, to William Gaston and Janice Jolley London. He graduated from Del Rio (TX) High School and Sul Ross State University. A federal civil-servant for more than 35 years, he served as County Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency (formerly ASCS) offices in Marfa, Plains, and Plainview, Texas, eventually retiring from the Plainview office in 2010. Following his retirement from the FSA, Jack became involved with, and part owner of Document Shredding and Storage company in Amarillo. Jack married Mary Virginia (Muff) Moore on January 12, 1991, in Marathon, Texas, and together with their children, formed a blended family that would be the center of their 25-year marriage. Their five children always knew they could count on Jack and Muff to be enthusiastically involved in every activity they pursued. Jack loved being a coaching dad for his sons' baseball teams. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. Jack enjoyed cooking, and is well known for his hearty breakfasts and barbecue chicken. Family and friends also referred to him as Fry Daddy for his love of, and propensity for preparing delicious fried foods. His greatest pleasure, however, came in the form of family trips and gatherings that included all of his children and their families. His life has always been enhanced by his love for people. Jack has best been described as approachable and a man that has never met a stranger. He possessed a special gift of being able to engage perfect strangers in lively conversation. Both long-time and new-found friends learned quickly that to know Jack London was to love him. At the time of his death, he was a member of the St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he was active in the Serra Club, he was active in his professional organization TASCOE, and he was head cook for the Document Shredding and Storage company, where he enjoyed community events. Those left to treasure the memories of his well-lived life are his wife, Muff, of the home; daughter Jackie London Brenda and her husband Kevin of Tempe, Arizona; sons Jay Clayton London and wife Holly of Greenville, Texas, D.W. Taylor and wife Sarah of Durango, Colorado, William Carson Taylor and wife Hilary of Telluride, Colorado, and Joe Kelly Taylor of Durango, Colorado; grandchildren Chloe Taylor, Lauren Davidson, Isabella and Tatum London, Jake and Jeremy Brenda, and Vaughn and Hugh Taylor; brother William G.
