Mary B. Van Geem, 80, of Fort Worth, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Interment will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Laurel Land Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Trail Lake Drive, Fort Worth, Texas. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Mary Elizabeth Barefield was born November 11, 1936 in Waco, Texas the second child born to Elon Eldridge Barefield and Kathleen Mary Plampin. She graduated from Del Rio High School and received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas. She married Neil Van Geem on September 5, 1959 in Del Rio, Texas. Mary loved her family, her church, and her flowers.
Mrs. Van Geem is preceded in death by her parents, Elon and Kathleen Barefield and by her brother, William E. Barefield.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Neil Van Geem, two sons; Steven Van Geem and his wife Shauna, and Alan Van Geem and his wife Amy, grandchildren: Mikayla, Curtis, Robert, Renata, Kegan, and Katie.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Mortgage Fund.
