1996 Pachanga

A Pictorial

A Pachanga is defined as an informal gathering of friends, or in this case 'male re-bonding'.

The word "friendship" is used to denote supportive behavior between two or more humans. Neither time, nor distance may alter established friendships and time and distance, in decades, did pass before one of these boys came up with this '96 gathering of old friends.

This below pictorial is of men from the Classes of 1960 through 1969 and include not only Del Rio boys, but also boys from Brackettville, Sonora, Rocksprings, Uvalde, Comstock, Dryden, Sanderson, and a sprinkling of other Texas towns. Our friendships sprang from high school activities, 4-H work, Scouting, rodeo's, college and country dances.

This "pachanga" was held at Bobby McCully's (Class of '64) ranch on Hamilton Lane and ran from Friday through Sunday. Cookie Gulick (Class of '63) made the cake for us. We camped, cooked three meals a day, told old stories, new ones, pitched washers, played horseshoes and enjoyed general camaraderie.

Have you contacted an old classmate or friend lately?
