Little Brock's

At the furthest end of South Main Street, at the corner of Nicholson and S. Main sat Little Brock’s.

When Joyce took it over, she needed the juke box room for more tables.

When Ed Brockwell was the owner, it was a  drive-in for kids.  Not seen in this photo is a room to the right where they would come to  drink cokes and dance to a juke box.

The photo below is particularly interesting. Both boys are wearing cowboy boots, to the right of the clock is a Painter Bus calendar. Numerous other beer and cigarette signs can be seen.  Behind Floyd Brockwell is a sign that reads “God Bless America, U.S. Marines.

Alumni from the 40s will remember Floyd, Little Brock and Wardie.  Alumni from the 50s will remember Ed and Joyce.;
