October 28, 2009 update:
The Lovers Lane home is located at the corner of Qualia and Santa Maria. The updated photo of the house is Photo #2 below.

Two Alumni picked the house the first day, however we didn’t confirm they were correct until near time of the Reunion....we were having too much fun using "She said, He said". Gary “Beak” Humphreys, Class of 1964 (he lives next door the house) and Edwina (Edwards) Whitehead, Class of 1961 (she lived close to the house)

Below are pictures of houses that were picked by Alumni, as supposedly being the Lovers Lane house. If you picked a huse that is not in the below please notify us by using the 'contact' button at the top of the web site.

Each photo may be enlarged by clicking same. Which house do you think it is?

We can only speculate what visions the title of "Lovers Lane" conjured up for Alumni, regardless of Class year, but one thing is a sure bet: A Lovers Lane in Del Rio probably relocated several times over the years!

The above photo was originated by Pennington's Drug Store in Del Rio, in a postcard format, with a postmark of August 31, 1909..and only required a 1¢ stamp! This postcard was mailed to Tularosa, Texas (North of Brackettville) and contained a short note to a relative. This card was discovered in a home being remodeled in Del Rio, along with other old photos, which your Alumni site will go through to find other photos tht might be of interest.

The house you see in the background is still standing in Del Rio and is in immaculate condition, however the street is no longer referred to as Lovers Lane...and its paved!

During the Reunion of October 9th & 10th, 2009 we'll post the location of the background house and an updated photo of the home.
