Brenda was born on June 26, 1950 in Burnett, Texas. She was the daughter of Armand Dee and Doris Goble and spent most of her childhood growing up in Del Rio, Texas. She was a part of the Class of 1968 at Del Rio High School and graduated that same year from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio. After spending a few years away, she returned home to Del Rio.

In 1980 she married Alva Otto Baker, Jr. and moved to Comstock, Texas. Alva and Brenda were married for 40 years. During their four decades of marriage, they raised 5 children together and she took pride in watching all of their children grow up, get married, and start families of their own. Daughter Renee Munoz of Austin, daughter Misty and her husband Shirl Marshall of Austin, son Bubba and his wife Loeta Baker of Comstock and daughter Wendy and her husband David Hammon of Fort Worth.

Brenda retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after serving as a loyal and dedicated travel counselor for over 20 years at the Judge Roy Bean Travel and Information Center. She enjoyed gardening and had a passion for butterflies and kitties. A wonderful cook, she was well known for her enchiladas and chocolate fudge. She was an avid seamstress having made several prom dresses for her daughters over the years.

She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters Arma Jean Winn, Kelly and Susan Goble, Debbie Churchwell, Mark and Debra Goble and Gayle Goble and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and looked forward to family reunions every year.

Her greatest enjoyment, however, was in the company of her grandchildren who lovingly knew her as “Nana”. One of Nana’s true joys in life was to be surrounded by all of her grandchildren together.
