Carey Lee “Caffey” Howell, Class of 1954 Obituary
Carey Howell, 78, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2014 in Yoakum, Texas. Carey was born April 30, 1936 in Del Rio, Texas to C. C. (Kirk) and Leora (Yodie) Caffey. Carey was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Howell, and both of her parents. Carey is survived by her son Bobby, daughter Rene Satterfield, and son Kurtis and his wife Diana all of Yoakum. Her brother Kirk Caffey and his wife Mary Lee of Ciablo, her sister Betty Lou Taylor and her husband Tom of Georgetown. Her grandsons Daryl Satterfield, Kyle Howell, granddaughters Danielle Alvarez, Kari Frazier, and five great-grandchildren.
Kenneth and Carey had dedicated their lives to taking care of underprivileged children and were administrators at Bluebonnet Youth Ranch at Yoakum. Carey served as the case worker at Bluebonnet for 30 years.
She was a member of the Austin Street Baptist Church of Yoakum.
