CHARLES T. (TIM) COLLINS
November 12, 1944 - November 1, 2015
Charles T. (Tim) Collins, age 70, of Bulverde, Texas passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born on November 12, 1944 in Cuero, Texas and grew up in Del Rio, Texas. He always loved school and all his classmates. They were more like "family" than just friends. He was a 1963 graduate of Del Rio High School.
He loved and played baseball and later on football. He served in the U.S. Army, including one tour in Germany, also one deployment in the Vietnam War. He retired after many years of devoted service as the Service Manager of the Grande Ford Truck Center in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Dora Collins, brother Floyd Collins and sister Patricia (Patsy) Fehnel. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hodges Collins; children Brenda Heath and husband Patrick, Larry Collins and wife Dawn, Candace Maldonado and husband Manuel, Reba Collins and fiance' T.J. Maness, Wes Collins and wife Felicia, and Tim Collins; 6 grandchildren; and sister, Syble Collins Mitchell and husband Owen.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Wednesday, November 4 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 5 at 11:30am in the Porter Loring North Chapel. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
