Joseph Stuhl (Stool), Class of 1940

 

Stuhl, Joseph Joseph Stuhl (Stool) left this world on February 19, 2011. He was born on October 19, 1923 in Del Rio, Texas.

Joe was president of the senior class, editor of the yearbook and had the lead in the school play.  He was an Eagle Scout and attended the first Boy Scout World Jamboree in Washington DC in 1936.

After serving in the European theater in World War II, he attended the University of Texas, where he attained a degree in law. He settled in Dallas, Texas, where he married his wife of 49 years, Helen, raised two children, and served as an attorney. He is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Gordon; his son Alexander and his wife Fiyola; his brother Max; his granddaughter Sara; his dear friend Myrna Ries; along with many other relatives and friends. He was a man of integrity, intellect, and strength who will never be forgotten by those who knew him. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 in Lefkowitz Chapel at Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas 75225, Rabbi Oren J. Hayon, officiating. Entombment Temple Emanu-El Mausoleum. Memorials can be made to any charity of your choice.
