Max Calk (Class of 1960) Obituary

 

Max Calk, 76, of Granbury, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018.  Service: @ 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2018, Granbury Church of Christ, Interment: Acton Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00PM-8:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Max was born on February 24, 1942 in Del Rio, Texas to Manuel and Libbie Calk.  He married Jeannette Rollins on August 9, 1969 in Duncan, Oklahoma.  He was a devoted husband, and a strong, loving and caring father and grandfather.

Max received his Master’s Degree in education from Sul Ross University.  He began his teaching career in Del Rio, Texas.  He taught for nearly 45 years, mostly at Paint Creek School. He was their biggest supporter.

Sports were Max’s middle name, which showed his love of coaching.  He liked westerns and loved everything having to do with the state of Texas.  He was an active member of Granbury Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Gina Crocker.

Max is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeannette Calk, son-in-law: Chris Crocker, grandchildren: Kacy Crocker, and Joshua Crocker and siblings: Wayne Calk and wife Linda and Bernice Jaap.
