Sherry Jo Yancey Felix (Class of 1962) Obituary

On April 1, 2016, Sherry Jo Yancey Felix, died of a heart related illness in Nolensville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Felix, and her parents Scott and Buelah Yancey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John David and Elisa Felix; two daughters and sons-in-law Jill Marie(Felix) and Dino Stockmaster of Nolensville, TN and Jamie (Felix) and Tim Wolter of Austin, TX; and five (5) grandchildren, Timothy Wolter, Grant Stockmaster, Brooke Stockmaster, Luke Wolter and Ella Wolter; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Gay Felix and Jerry and Meridith Felix; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bill Burnette. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Sherry Jo grew up in Del Rio, graduating from Del Rio High School in 1962. She is remembered by her old friends as a good student and a good friend, and not too bad as a Powder Puff Football player. She was an unassuming, quiet person with a good sense of humor. She and her husband met while he served in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base. After his discharge, the couple lived a number of years in Houston. At retirement, they moved to Tennessee where their daughter Jill lives.
