Shirley Anne Whitt Latham Lee, age 78, beloved mother, nana and sister went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. Shirley was born October 17, 1939 in Register, Ga.
Shirley graduated Del Rio High School in 1958 and won the title of Miss Del Rio the same year. Shirley chose a career in law enforcement and became the first female deputy sheriff of Val Verde County. She served her community for over 30 years as deputy, and loved that she was able to visit with so many people everyday. If you had time for a cup of coffee, so did she. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church and never missed an opportunity to spend time with family. She spent many hours watching her granddaughter dance and her grandson play basketball. She loved to bake a cake when she visited her family, and made sure the last piece was always saved for her grandson.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Lori Latham Schifani (Steve) of San Antonio, TX. Brother Frank H. Whitt, Jr. (Jackie), of Las Vegas, NV. Grandson Jake Schifani and Granddaughter Ashton Schifani both of San Antonio, TX. Nephew Scott Whitt; and Nieces Kimberly Cole, Amber McGuire and Trina Lynch all of Las Vegas, NV. Shirley is proceeded in death by her parents Frank and Bernice Whitt.
