Terry Eugene Ellison (“Paw Paw”)
Terry Eugene (“Paw Paw”) Ellison, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the age of 78. Terry was born on October 19, 1937, in Van, Texas. He graduated from high school in Del Rio, Texas, received a Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M and a Masters Degree from Southwest Texas State University. He was a loyal Aggie all his life.
Terry married his wife of over 55 years, Sandra Gail (Leath) Ellison, in 1960. To Terry, she was always his “Sweet Sandy.”
Terry began his 40 plus year career as a high school math teacher in San Antonio, Texas, and later taught at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos and Jack C. Hays High School in Buda. Many also knew Terry as their Sunday school teacher, music director, Boy Scout troop master, drivers ed instructor or school bus driver. He loved to watch the Aggies play football, and collect kisses from his sweetheart for every score. “Paw Paw” also enjoyed reading his Bible, aggravating Nanny and engaging in enthusiastic theological debates with unwary Jehovah Witnesses who knocked at his door. Whether to friends or strangers, he never missed an opportunity to share his Christian testimony.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sandra, and by his children: Stephen (Marta) Ellison; Timothy (Sandra) Ellison; Nathan (Erin) Ellison; Stephanie (William) Kalahurka; and Andrew (Ashley) Ellison. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Tyler, Michaela, Jonathan, Aubrey, Abby, Sara Jane, Wyatt, Seth, Amelia and Billy. Terry is preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Leon Ellison and his grandson, Shane.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Westover Baptist Church in San Marcos, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Westover Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
