Class of 1962 Summer Gathering

Submitted by: Charlene (Reams) Manning Class of '62

On July 23, 2007, members of the Class of '62 gathered with a sprinkling of other classes for a fish fry. Approximately 30 Wildcats were in attendance along with 5 spouses.

The atmosphere was more like a family reunion as friends shared old photos, compared notes on their grandchildren, remembered deceased classmates and spoke of those who battled illnesses.

The following day Frank Larson hosted a patio luncheon at his home on the banks of San Felipe Creek. The setting was beautiful; the weather, mild for July. About 12 Wildcats of various classes attended. It was a fine time of group discussion where everyone could laugh and feel young (despite reality).

The persons responsible for the impromptu event are: The Tidwell sisters, Janet and Cathy (Classes of 1961 and 1962); Laura (Davis) Wolff and J. J. Foster (the "Del Rio connections"); Janet (Wipff) Burns, and Dick Wolff, who provided the fish. Most of the attendees were local, a few from other parts of Texas, and one came from out of state. Kudos to those responsible for pulling this "covered dish" event together in less than a month, and many thanks to Frank Larson for his hospitality.
