Linda Gail Mathis of Carrollton, Texas, passed away Sept. 09, 2010, and her funeral service was held Sept. 13, 2010. She was born Linda Gail Umphress in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 30, 1941. She was preceded in death by her father, Vance R. Umphress, and mother, Effie Mae Umphress.
Gail is survived by husband, James L. Mathis II; daughter, Deborah Cusic and her husband, Tom; sons, Daniel Mathis and David Mathis; grandchildren, Hailey and Brittany Cusic, and James, Wade and Alex Mathis; sister, Sandra Kay Jessup of Cleburne; nephews, Randle Jessup of Houston and Ronald Jessup Sr. of Rio Vista; grandnephew, Junior Jessup; and grandniece, Reagan Jessup of Rio Vista.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to many. Gail was a member of the Church of Christ and for many years helped her church send out and grade Bible correspondence courses. She was a member of Carrollton Women’s Club. She had attended Texas A&I College in Kingsville, Texas. She will be missed.
