Joe Dean Lee died at his home in Houston on Thursday, June 21, 2012. He was born August 25, 1926 to Orville Dyer Lee and Dorthula Bush Lee in Del Rio, Texas. After graduating from Del Rio High School, he joined the Navy at the age of seventeen. Later he attended the University of Texas, leaving to join Shell Oil Company at Deer Park, retiring from there in 1986. Joe married Barbara Ammerman in 1949, and they have made their home in the Houston area for over sixty years. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his sister Virginia Cowherd, and two daughters, Melissa Pollis of Huntsville, and Shelley Francis of Pasadena, as well as seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Rosewood Funeral Home from five to seven on Monday, June 25. There will be a memorial service at Sunset Methodist Church at two o'clock on Tuesday, June 26.
