He was predeceased by his son Johnny Benitez; and his parents, Antonio Benitez and Bertha Benitez. He is survived by his daughters, Geri Benitez and Jackie Perez (Steve); his grandchildren, Sara Luevanos, Salome Luevanos, Kalina Ardila and Adam Ardila; and his great grandchildren, Jolene Grace Espinoza and Lila Jacqueline Espinoza.
Visitation was held on Friday, 3 December 2021 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Sunset Memorial (2020 N Bedell Ave, Del Rio, TX 78840). A rosary was held on Friday, 3 December 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A mass was held on Friday, 3 December 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (510 Wernett St, Del Rio, TX 78840).
