'Kitty Wade' Cammach, Class of 1932

Kitty Wade Cammack, 94, entered peacefully into the Kingdom of God and her savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family on February 6, 2010 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born September 28, 1915 in Frankston, Texas. She moved to Del Rio in 1920 and was a member of the first graduating class from Del Rio High School in 1932. She graduated from the College of Industrial Arts, now known as Texas Womans University and earned a Library of Science Degree from Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas. Kitty Wade was a beloved Librarian at both San Felipe and Del Rio High Schools, retiring in 1979. She served on various Social and Civic Organizations throughout her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Lee Weathersbee and wife Najla of Del Rio and Walt Weathersbee and wife Diane of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Cami Cadena and husband Robert of Del Rio, Martin Weathersbee and wife Sheri of Del Rio, Lacy Weathersbee of Chicago and Matthew Weathersbee of Austin; great-grandchildren: Corryn, Cole and Cade Cadena of Del Rio; former daughter-in-law Terry Weathersbee of Del Rio: niece: Marilyn Martin Hunt and husband Howard of Del Rio; step daughter-in-law: Beth Cammack of Quincy, CA; step granddaughter: Sister Cyndi Cammack, OP of Reno, NV; step grandson: Ed Cammack of Quincy, CA; special family friends: Nick, Shadia, Natalie and Victoria Khoury of Del Rio; numerous family members and friends; puppies: Jordan and Petra.

Kitty Wade will join her parents: Homer and Aunella (Tootsie) Cely, brother: Homer Cely Jr., sister and brother in-law: Mary and Jimmy Martin, Oland Weathersbee, father of her two sons and her husband of thirty-one years George Cammack and stepson: W.R. (Bill) Cammack.

The family is grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Lynn Buchanan, Nurse Ruby and staff; nurses and staff of Med-Way Home Health Care, especially Maria and Rita; ICU, 4th station and Hospice staff of Val Verde Regional Medical Center and private care providers Martha, Maria, Nohme and Maria Elena.

Visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2010, 4-5:00P.M, at G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of her Life beginning at 5:00P.M with The Reverend David Chalk and Sister Cyndi Cammack officiating. A private family burial will follow immediately after the service. The Family is requesting friends to join them at Chaparral Town Homes Clubhouse, 100 Royal Way Drive at 6:00P.M for a sharing of memories of Kitty Wade.

In Lieu of Usual Remembrances the family requests donations go to Friends of Hospice, or Val Verde County Library.
