Guadalupe M. Torres, Jr., age 70, entered into rest August 24, 2011, in Del Rio, Texas. He was born August 8, 1941 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Eva S. Torres, parents Guadalupe Sr. and Maria Chita Torres and Ana Reavis
Lupe married Eva Suarez on June 25, 1961. They raised seven children and accomplished their goal of sending them to college. He was employed by Gandy's Dairy's as a milkman supervisor. He worked for 37 years serving house-to-house customers and becoming acquainted with the community. With his hard work and dedication, Gandy's expanded to regional cities such as Eagle Pass, Carrizo Springs, and Crystal City.
After retiring from Gandy's, Lupe continued providing for his family by developing rental properties throughout Del Rio. Lupe enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in sports. He was a dedicated and faithful servant of God setting a great example for his children. His past time hobby was going and enjoying the Kickapoo Casino!
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jo Elda LaBelle and husband +Rick, Guadalupe Torres III and wife Patty, Robert Lee Torres, Katherine Mejia and husband Joe Stephen, David Lee Torres and wife Tammy, Roger Torres and wife Mary, Ray Torres and wife Rachel. Grandchildren: Lupe IV, Adrian, Kristen Nicole, Gregory Robert, Stephen, Gerald, Brandon, Eva Danielle, David Lee Jr., John David, Isabel, Roger Jr., Emily, and Ray. Great grandchild: Aydin Andrew. Brothers and sisters: Edwardo Torres and wife +Amelia, Lydia Rocha and husband +Hector, Olga Cox and husband Charlie, Dora Stockman and husband John, George Torres and wife Socorro, Gloria Calderon and husband Fermin. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2011 from 5-9pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with rosary beginning at 7pm. Then on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 8:30-9:30 with rosary at 8:30.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
