Patricia Chandler, Class of 1949

Patricia L. Chandler, 79, passed away October 2, 2011 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born September 9, 1932 in Del Rio, Texas. She is survived by her three children: Walton "Tad" Lynch and his wife Stacey, Tracy Elizabeth Lynch and Zane Patrick Lynch; grandchildren: Dustin Lee and Nora Nicole Lynch; and great grandchild: Caden Avery Lynch.


Patricia was a long time resident of Del Rio graduating from Del Rio High school in 1949. She then received her Teaching degree from Sul Ross University. She married her husband Bert Lynch and started her teaching career in San Antonio in the old Southside District. Later they moved to Del Rio where she finished her long illustrious teacher career. The Governor of Texas recognized her for her volunteer work on the "Texas War on Drugs". She was selected by a Washington committee as Who's who in American Education in 1987. Pat was also instrumental in starting the D. A. R. E. program in the Del Rio schools. She also did her share of volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, M.O.C. #20 Texas Auxiliary, VFW, and the Ladies Auxiliary at Val Verde Memorial Regency hospital. She will surely be missed but not forgotten.


Visitation will be on Wednesday, 5-9:00P.M, October 5, 2011 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A Chapel service will be celebrated on Thursday, 4:00P.M, October 6, 2011 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
