Rebecca Ann Bradley Valdez was born to Clyde M. and Roxie Bess Bradley on August 16, 1944 in Del Rio, TX. She went home to be with her Savior on January 14, 2018. Rebecca grew up in Del Rio, where she attended Del Rio High School and was a graduate of the class of 1962. In 1963, she wed Donald Jean Quinn, and moved to Bernie, Missouri where she lived for the next 25 years. During that time, they raised their 3 children: Bradley Don Quinn, Troy (Shane) Quinn, and Natalie Dawn Quinn. Later in life, she returned to Del Rio where she met and married Hermilo (Milo) Valdez, who preceded her in death, August 2008.
She was active in local organizations such as UCO, the Pan American Round table, and several women’s ministries throughout the years. She was a devout Christian and member of the Sanctuary Fellowship in Richmond, TX. Serving others was what she loved best, as her heart was as big as they come. Her family was her life, pride and joy…especially her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Granny” by many, and nothing would keep her from sacrificing her own needs to make sure her family was taken care of, and had everything they needed. Additionally, she was a gifted seamstress and was always willing to take on a sewing project, especially if it was for others. Whether she was working to alter a wedding dress, making center pieces for a wedding, or crafting a Halloween costume out of nothing but a piece of discarded fabric and her imagination, she always loved helping other people.
Rebecca is survived by her brother, Jimmy Frank Bradley and wife Nena, and there 3 children: Bradley Don Quinn and wife Cathy of Fairmont, MN, Troy (Shane) Quinn and wife Omega of Del Rio, TX, and Natalie Dawn Quinn Garcia of Sugar Land, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hermilo (Milo) Valdez, her daughter-in-law, Catarina (Cathy) Montemayor Quinn, and her son-in-law, Hector Garcia.
Rebecca “Granny” Valdez will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Milo Valdez, in Del Rio, TX. She was loved and will be missed by many.
