Silvestre Hernandez Jr., age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 in Austin, Texas.
He was born on August 1, 1943 in Del Rio, TX to Silvestre and Elida Partida Hernandez.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Odilia G. Hernandez; a daughter: Sara Hernandez Parra (Pedro) of Midland, TX, His Son: Silvestre Hernandez III (Anne Christine) of Mercedes, TX. Sisters: Guadalupe H. Flores, Norma Mendoza, Mary Saenz, and Beatrice Narvaez. Brothers: Arturo Segura, Richard Hernandez, and Sylvester Hernandez. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Abigail Grace Hernandez and Christian Gabriel Garcia. A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 from 7-9pm at the G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Templo El Tabernaculo located at 1102 W. Martin St. with Pastor Ruben Herrera officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and our Local American Legion Post #595.
